Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) is a serious respiratory disease and it continues to spread and threaten our lives. Many infected people do not show symptoms and may risk infecting others without knowing. Early detection is a simple step to protect our community.
What is PCR ?
- Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) is a laboratory technique for rapidly producing (amplifying) millions to billions of copies of a specific segment of DNA.
- Using PCR it is to generate thousands to millions of copies of a particular section of DNA from a very small amount of DNA.
COVID-19 Symptoms
People with COVID-19 have had a wide range of symptoms reported – ranging from mild symptoms to severe illness. Symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus. Anyone can have mild to severe symptoms. Possible symptoms include:-
- Fever or chills
- Cough
- Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
- Fatigue
- Muscle or body aches
- Headache
- New loss of taste or smell
- Sore throat
- Congestion or runny nose
- Nausea or vomiting
- Diarrhea
